Musclebound.

Musclebound presents the male body as a decorative object, appropriating images that individuals share of themselves on the social media outlet, Instagram. The work proposes that the sculpting of the male body into an idealistic form­– suggestive of patriarchal power and extremes of traditional concepts of biological maleness– is an intentional act of objectifying one’s own body to allow for homosocial bonding within the patriarchal structure that regulates men’s homosocial interaction.
